Michael Van Cleve, MA, LP, LADC

Michael joins MidWest Center with 39 years of experience in the Mental Health field. He holds licenses as a psychologist and an alcohol and drug counselor.  Michael graduated from Saint Olaf College with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.  He earned his Master’s degree in counseling and psychological services from St. Mary’s University Graduate Institute.

Michael has previously worked as a child/adolescent therapist, adult therapist and as a clinical supervisor.  Michael’s previous work experiences include time at Fairview Health Services, Health Partners, Health East, United Behavioral Health, MidWest Center as a clinician and with the University of Minnesota as a faculty member in the College of Continuing Education. Michael works with older adolescents and all age adults in individual, and family modalities. He specializes in substance use disorders, grief and loss, men’s issues, current clinical treatments for depression and anxiety as well as adults living with childhood trauma.
