Melissa Urbanek, MA, LMFT

Melissa received her Psychology Degree from the Iowa State University.  She attended Argosy University where she earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has 10+ years of experience in the mental health field with a special focus on children. Prior to joining the MidWest Center team, she developed her skills working in the Children’s Mental Health Program as a day treatment therapist at the Fraser Child and Family Center as well as providing outpatient counseling services for children and families at the Washburn Center for Children.  Melissa works exclusively with children ages 3-18, young adults, and families.

Melissa’s Therapy Approach: “I work with children to uncover meaning to their behaviors. I help them to understand their world, cope with challenges and express themselves in a healthy appropriate way.”
