What anger issues are you dealing with?

Do you get IRRITATED over the littlest things? Do you EXPLODE and VENT on people? Do you hold onto GRUDGES? Has anyone ever told you “You have an ANGER PROBLEM”? If any of the above tends to describe you, this therapy group can help. People who have problems controlling their behavior when they are angry are often very “reactive” to stressors in their environment. These stressors might be co-workers, family members, financial problems, or… one of the most common: traffic!

What are your triggers?

Whatever the stressor, it is important to find a way to deal with both the small and the large triggers for our anger. Some of the questions this group helps you answer are: What are your triggers? What are the feelings that are underneath your anger? What kinds of negative thoughts are streaming through your brain? Is it possible to change the negative behaviors you have?

Learn how to assess your feelings and negative patterns

Based on the NEW workbook, “CALMing the Anger Within”

One of the critical things for you to do is to learn how to identify and assess yourself regarding your anger issues. To successfully manage your anger you need to:

  • Identify hidden reasons for your anger
  • Assess your anger styles
  • Change negative patterns
  • Choose positive ways to express anger
  • Work on a positive attitude

What happens during the group sessions?

In the Anger Management Group, we help group members evaluate their own issues as they delve into the very complex issue of anger. We help  identify hidden feelings, thoughts, and mistaken beliefs that get you “stuck” in negative and destructive ways of showing anger and frustration. We assess anger styles, negative patterns, and “attitude problems.”

  • Creating new tools for yourself

You will come out of every anger management group session with new tools to help you cope in a more positive way with your anger, and you will feel better about yourself as you practice these tools in-between sessions and come back to share how they worked for you.

    Stress Management

An added plus: We provide tools for “STRESS MANAGEMENT” too! Whether your stress comes from problems with finances, difficult people in your life, or simply “not having enough time for everything,” you can learn how to manage your personal stress in a more efficient and productive way. Come to find out how!
