It is important to be aware of one’s triggers for anger and the body signs of escalation, in order to use the calming technique and diaphragmatic deep breathing to reduce anger. Additionally, it is important to recognize and address mistaken beliefs that can lead to anger, and to take personal responsibility for one’s own anger. Lastly, it is beneficial to have a list of coping thoughts that can be used in different situations.
